This 55-minute film documents the inaugural event of Women on Fire in Westminster with a sensational line-up of international speakers, all gutsy, pioneering women in their field who share just as much a warm and tender feminine intelligence as balls. Obviously we couldn't include everyone, but this film amply conveys the range of female brilliance in both audience, artists and speakers, and the compelling interactivity of the day. This wasn't just a sit back and listen event. We danced, debated, wept (the raw emotion of beautiful, noble Hafsat Abiolla-Costello's story struck deep) laughed and amazed ... each other. Fields range from science, law, politics, art and technology to pioneering social change, film and music. Speakers include Camila Batmanghelidjh from Kids Company, peace campaigner Scilla Elworthy, evolutionary biologist Elisabet Sahtouris, lawyer Polly Higgins, wildlife filmmaker Madelaine Westwood and science writer Angela Saini. You could use this film to inspire and fire up women in your own networks and circles. Women on Fire supports and promotes women as decision makers. Its format is broad, connecting up women through conventional and radical approaches. Women on Fire is run by a small team of women under the guidance of a female shaman.
